Psychiatric care
A thoughtful starting point for understanding mental health concerns.
Psychiatric care begins with listening, evaluation and clinical context. The purpose is to understand symptoms, health history, daily function and treatment goals before determining an appropriate next step.
Common reasons people inquire
Mental health concerns can affect mood, focus, sleep, relationships and everyday function.
Nu Mind Body Health provides psychiatric care for concerns including, but not limited to:
Depression
Persistent sadness, loss of interest, low energy, changes in sleep or appetite, and difficulty concentrating may indicate that additional support is needed.
Anxiety
Excessive worry, tension, panic, restlessness, or avoidance can make everyday situations feel difficult to manage.
ADHD
Challenges with attention, organization, impulsivity, or restlessness may affect performance and responsibilities at school, work, or home.
PTSD
Traumatic experiences can contribute to intrusive memories, heightened alertness, avoidance, sleep difficulties, or changes in mood and behavior.
Mood disorders
Significant or recurring changes in mood, energy, sleep, or activity may require careful assessment to understand their pattern and possible causes.
Other mental health concerns
Psychiatric care may also support people experiencing emotional, behavioral, cognitive, or sleep-related concerns that interfere with daily functioning or quality of life.
What care may include
Four parts of the psychiatric-care pathway.
01
Psychiatric evaluation
A structured conversation about current concerns, history, daily function and care goals.
02
Diagnostic assessment
Clinical assessment that considers symptoms and context before a diagnosis or treatment direction is established.
04
Individualized planning
A plan developed for the individual, which may include medication, monitoring, additional assessment or another appropriate referral.
04
Medication management
Follow-up appointments may review response, concerns, safety, adherence and whether the plan should be adjusted.
What to expect
From first request to ongoing care.
Schedule your appointment
Contact the team by phone, text or the website. An online request begins the process; it does not confirm an appointment.
Complete consent form
Before confirmation, the client completes the required health questionnaire and consent form through the approved secure process.
Confirm appointment
The support team reviews practical details such as service, provider, availability and access requirements before confirming the appointment.
Evaluation and treatment
The provider evaluates the individual’s concerns and discusses clinically appropriate options. Follow-up depends on the resulting plan.
Assessment and testing
Tools support clinical judgment— they do not replace it.
When clinically appropriate, a psychiatric provider may use structured interviews, screening questionnaires, rating scales or other assessment inputs to better understand a person’s concerns. The provider determines whether a tool is appropriate for the individual and how its results fit within the broader evaluation.
Conners 3 and QbCheck
Client-identified assessment inputs. Final age, setting and diagnostic framing require review.
Structured interviews, rating scales and GeneSight
Examples reported by the client include PHQ-9, GAD-7, PCL-5, pharmacogenetic testing, MINI, and other provider-selected tools.
Evaluation and next steps
The provider evaluates the individual’s concerns and discusses clinically appropriate options. Follow-up depends on the resulting plan.
